1. Introduction

Cyber Path Insight Training is committed to ensuring fairness, transparency, and equity in the assessment and certification process. This appeals policy provides a structured process for candidates to challenge decisions related to their assessments or any aspect of their training experience.

2. Grounds for Appeal

Candidates may appeal decisions based on the following grounds:

  • Perceived procedural irregularities or administrative errors.
  • Evidence of bias or discrimination.
  • Disagreement with the assessment outcome.
  • Misinterpretation of evidence or other factual inaccuracies.

3. Appeals Process

Step 1: Informal Resolution

  • Candidates are encouraged to first discuss their concerns informally with the instructor or assessor within 10 business days of receiving the assessment result or decision.
  • The instructor/assessor will review the concern and respond within 5 business days.
  • If the issue is resolved at this stage, no further action is required.

Step 2: Formal Appeal Submission

  • If the issue is not resolved informally, candidates may submit a formal appeal in writing to the Appeals Committee within 15 business days of the informal resolution attempt.
  • The formal appeal must include:
    • Candidate’s full name and contact details.
    • Details of the assessment or decision being appealed.
    • Grounds for the appeal and supporting evidence.
    • Any relevant correspondence or documentation.

Step 3: Appeals Committee Review

  • Upon receipt of the formal appeal, the Appeals Committee will acknowledge the appeal within 3 business days and conduct a preliminary review to ensure it falls within the grounds for appeal.
  • The Appeals Committee will review all relevant documentation, including the candidate’s appeal submission, assessment records, and any additional information deemed necessary.
  • The committee may request further information or clarification from the candidate or other involved parties.

Step 4: Decision

  • The Appeals Committee will decide within 20 business days of receiving the formal appeal.
  • The decision will be communicated to the candidate in writing, detailing the reasons for the decision.
  • Possible outcomes include:
    • Upholding the original decision.
    • Overturning the decision and amending the assessment outcome.
    • Recommending a re-assessment or further action.

4. Further Appeals

  • If the candidate is dissatisfied with the outcome of the formal appeal, they may request a final review by the Director of Cyber Path Insight Training within 10 business days of receiving the Appeals Committee’s decision.
  • The Director will review the case and provide a final decision within 15 business days.
  • The decision of the Director is final and binding.
